Composed of Navajo sandstone above red shale from the Kayenta Formation, The Watchman is a geologic feature of the Colorado Plateau. Zion National Park is situated where the Great Basin, Mojave Desert and Colorado Plateau meet, offering visitors an unusual variety of Plants and animals.
